King Design Solutions is thrilled to announce that CEO Mark King has been selected as a judge for the 2024 Congressional App Challenge, representing Georgia’s 5th Congressional District. Organized by U.S. Congresswoman Nikema Williams, this initiative encourages middle and high school students to showcase their coding skills and creativity by developing original software applications. King will join a distinguished panel tasked with evaluating submissions based on creativity, functionality, and technical excellence.

The Congressional App Challenge provides young people across the country with an opportunity to engage in the digital economy by creating apps that address topics they are passionate about. Students may compete individually or in teams of up to four, using any programming language and platform. The challenge is open to students in middle and high school who reside or attend school in participating congressional districts, fostering an inclusive environment for young innovators.

King, a respected entrepreneur and IT expert with a B.S. in Information Technology from Georgia Southern University, brings years of experience in system operations, business analysis, and web development to his role as a judge. His Atlanta-based company, King Design Solutions, specializes in digital solutions for small to mid-sized businesses. As an advocate for tech education and youth empowerment, King is honored to contribute to an event that champions the next generation of digital creators.

Winning apps will be showcased on the House of Representatives website and in the U.S. Capitol Building, giving student participants the recognition and exposure their talents deserve.
